ETERNAL SPRING ON OUR MINI-CONTINENTThe Canary Islands are known throughout the world as the Islands of Eternal Spring. The reasons for the gentle climate are the prevailing winds - the trade winds - the lie of the terrain itself and the cold Canary current, which ensures that the coasts and beaches of the Canaries always enjoy magnificent temperatures, sometimes above average air temperature. In general, the Island climate is mild, temperate and moderate throughout the year. There are no seasons of extreme cold or suffocating heat. Average temperatures fluctuate between 17º and 18º C in winter and 24º or 25º C in summer. These figures are especially applicable in coastal areas. The micro-climate is one of the most surprising and attractive aspects of the Islands especially for Film shoots. More intensive light conditions, more light hours, and due to the micro-climate, possibilities for weather back-up conditions, are the main advantages of climate, making shooting so popular in the Canary Islands. |
